Home office tips for beginners
Go to work mentally
Get ready like you do when going to the office: no pyjamas, showered, shaved, hair dressed - and put on shoes.
Distinguish your tasks
Always separate the private from the professional: don’t constantly do private things in the home office.
Get started right away
As soon as you arrive at the home office, you should start the day's work and not tidy up or read news.
Avoid interruptions
Make sure that you are not disturbed by the children (if possible) or friends - switch off the TV.
Have lunch regularly
In the home office you are tempted to appease the small hunger with snacks and then work through - have a proper lunch break instead.
Praise yourself
Lonely homeworkers in particular, suffer from a lack of praise. Without positive feedback, people tend to give up.
Share your goals
Tell others what you are up to and by when you want to achieve it. You will feel more connected and subconsciously are more focused on success.
Stop when you are done
Make a real end of the day! When you have finished your day's work, clear up the desk, switch off the devices and put an end to it. This also means that you shall not start working again an hour later just because you can't think of anything better.
